(Montreal, June 15, 2010) Giant Hydra — a collaborative, online, idea-generation technology developed for advertising agencies and creative professionals alike — has been released. In development since 2008 and built from the ground up by a team of advertising creative professionals, Giant Hydra will allow agencies to harness the ideas from hundreds of creative talents around the world, all working together in a way that revolutionizes the creative process.

Giant Hydra follows a framework similar to many social networks, redesigned to adhere to the true nature of the creative process. This makes for an almost immediate familiarity for the “HydraHeads” — creatives engaged in a project — allowing them to focus on idea generation and development without technology getting in the way.

When beginning a project, an agency will be able to browse through the portfolios and expertise of potential HydraHeads, selecting those with talents and experience best suited for the assignment. Once selected, the HydraHeads will be collaborating with each other in a private work environment under strict confidentiality agreements. Once the project is finished, all members of the team will be paid a competitive fee that will vary per project.

The end product of a Giant Hydra project will be an IdeaMatrix, a deep web of ideas, mediums and executions around core seeds or ‘big ideas’ that will be given to the agency or client for development.

While Giant Hydra is primarily designed for agencies to tap into a pool of worldwide talent, it can also be implemented internally to connect multiple agency offices on a single project, allowing for true global cooperation in real time. Award-winning international agency TAXI used Giant Hydra in a global pitch that involved TAXI offices in New York, Amsterdam, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary.
